Hi my name is Darrell Murphy, I am 40 years old and I am currently in Taylor County Detention Center in Abilene Tx in pre-trial detention where I have been fighting my legal case for over a year now waiting for a court date. It is an exhausting, slow-moving process, but I refuse to let these four walls define who I am. Win or lose, the finish line is in sight—I’m looking at only a couple of years at the very most before this chapter is completely behind me.
Right now, my biggest goal isn't just surviving this time, but staying connected to the real world. The legal battle I can handle, but the absolute hardest part of being here is the crushing monotony and the lack of genuine conversation.
